Good Morning folks! Rough start for me this morning but I'm still thankful! I hope everyone's day has been blessed thus far. Here we go...
Today's Topic: Lord Help Us To See
Scripture Text: 1 Corinthians 1:26
"Take a good look...at who you were when you got called"
Jesus didn't see people as losers, but as potential winners who'd lost their ways. He "was moved with compassion for them" (Mark 6:34) He saw them through God's eyes, not as weeds, but as potential roses. Thankfully his perception of us is much better than ours. When others might see a woman with five failed marriages, He saw a restored sinner who could reach others in Samaria. When others might see a blind man; He envisioned someone who could see. They saw a cripple; He pictured a man picking up his mat and walking away. There are so many parables within the bible that show how Jesus will see something great in man, when man only sees failure.
Paul says, "Think of what you were when you were called. Not many...were wise by human standards; not many were influential...[or] of noble birth" (1 Corinthians 1:26) Face it, you weren't so wonderful before God turned you around, so stop judging others from your limited perspective and try to see them as God saw you. Work to bring out the best in them. Introduce them to the One Who came to bring "great joy to all the people" (Luke 2:10)-no exceptions!
Have a great day everyone! his one definitely has me thinking about some relationships I have.
Be Blessed.

Daily Devotion for 5/23/11 Do you need direction?
Good Morning Folks! Happy Monday to you! Aren't you glad you made it through the weekend?!
Here's today's devotion...
Today's Topic: Do you need direction?
Scripture Text: Psalms 1:6
"The Lord watches over the path of the godly"
God will speak to you:
#1 Through relationships: Sometimes He will give you direct revelation, but often He will speak to you through relationships. His word says: "Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you" (Hebrews 13:7) So who do you have in your life that speaks to you? Without good input you will live unprotected and undirected.
#2 Through your gifts: "A man's gift makes room for him" (Proverbs 18:16) When God is directing your steps you won't need to kick the door open or force your way in. Your gift will bring a solution and meet a need; therefore, you'll be welcomed, value and rewarded.
#3 Through your thoughts: "we have the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16) When our minds are renewed by his Word and line up with His will, God actually thinks through us. Think about what advantages we have because of this!
#4 Through open doors: Paul wrote, "For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries" (1Corinthians 16:9) God will open doors for you, but you must remember that with every opportunity He gives, challenges come too. That's what builds your faith and strengthens you for the future. There are blessings that God uses as a test to see how we'll handle it. Don't abuse the gifts God gives you...There's so much he has in store with you but he needs you to take care of what he's already given you.
#5 Through a "word" confirmation: "Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it" (Isaiah 30:21) Not the word "behind" This word comes after you obey God, letting you know you've made a good decision and that you're on the right track. Yes you can be led by God. His Word says: "The Lord watches over the path of the Godly."
Are you on the right track? Or do you need some assistance from God? Maybe there are some things you need to go to him about. It's okay to ask for help. If you think God is not being clear on something, ask him for a little more help. Ask him to open your ears to hear what he has for you. Ask him to open your eyes so you can see HIS path clearly. He said he will make it plain. Just be ye also ready for the things he has in store.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
May God Bless each of you. Remember I'm always here if you need me.
Be Blessed...

Daily Devotion for 5/20/11 Let Jesus Solve Your Problem
Good Morning Folks. Happy Friday!!!
Today's Topic: Let Jesus Solve Your Problem
Scripture Text: John 2:3
"The mother of Jesus said...They have no wine"
In biblical times offering wine to your guests at a wedding was an expected courtesy. It was also a sign of respect, so running out of it would have been a social disaster. But observe how Mary handled it. Instead of looking for someone to blame, or making excuses, she took her problem to Jesus. That's always your best move. "O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear. All because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer. " Jesus told the servants to fill the jars with water and give some to the headwaiter. When he tasted it, the Bible says "The water had become wine" (John 2:9) But notice, it happened after they had obeyed Jesus, not before. At a particularly contentious church board meeting when one member suggested they pray about the problem, another responded, "Has it come to that?"
There are basically two reasons we make prayer or last resort instead of our first:
#1 We like to think we are able to solve our own problems: How often do we try to solve things on our own because we think we know what's best?
#2 We feel insignificant and think, "It's okay for Mary to ask Jesus; she's His mother, but He's got bigger problems to solve than mine.": Know that all of your problems are important to God. He delights in you. See (Psalms 18:19)
You're never too big or too small to ask your heavenly Father for help. Just take your cue from Mary: identify the problem, bring it to Jesus, do what He tells you, and watch Him work it out.
Amen?
Love Ya'll!
Have a great weekend everyone. Be Blessed!

Daily Devotion for 5/19/11 Wildflowers and Weeds
Good Morning folks. Happy Thursday
Today's Topic: Wildflowers and Weeds
Scripture Text: 1 Corinthians 1:22-31
"God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong."
MY wife loves to gather wildflowers and weeds along roadsides and in abandoned fields to make bouquets. There is something about these "lilies of the field" that brings joy and creates beauty. Unlike in a garden where beautiful flowers are a result of toil, wildflowers survive with only God's care, and they are often surprising in their beauty, abundance, and fragrance.
Even the wildflowers we call weeds can have great beauty. God apparently enjoys picking human "weeds," each one beautiful in its own way and capable of the miraculous when combined in a bouquet pleasing to God. The genealogy of Jesus reported in Matthew 1:1-16 certainly contains people whom some would consider weeds: Rahab, a prostitute; Ruth, a Moabite foreigner; and David, an adulterer. Jesus also seemed to pick weeds as he assembled his disciples from among fishermen, tax collectors, and political zealots. However, the combination of all these "weeds" carried the message of grace and salvation throughout the world.
Jerry T. Lang (Michigan, USA)
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for using us just as we are. Help us join with others as imperfect as ourselves to work in your kingdom, as we pray, "Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation."* Amen.
Thought for the Day
We do not have to be perfect to be used by God.

Daily Devotion for 5/18/11 Growing Stronger Through Change Part IV
Good Morning Folks...Happy Wednesday! I pray that everyone's week has been blessed thus far. This is the final portion of this series. I pray that it has helped at least one person. Let's get to it!
Today's Topic: Growing Stronger Through Change Part IV
Scripture Text: Hebrews 12:1
"Let us strip off every weight that...trips us up."
The Psalmist said: "I'm awake all night-not a wink of sleep; I can't even say what's bothering me" (Psalms 77:4) Is anyone going through that right now? Is this a recurring situation for you? If so, here are a few things to consider changing:
#1 Let go of what no longer works: There are trade-offs. For everything you gain, you usually have to give something up. The trouble is, we do not like giving up what we do well. [I went through this myself when God told me to let go of dancing to focus on ministry through song] so we focus on "doing things right", end up not doing the right things, and wonder why we don't succeed. When you season changes, be open to a new strategy. Letting go of what doesn't work anymore frees you up to focus on what does. And more importantly, to focus on what God wants you to do!
#2 Don't let change paralyze you: In new situations our first inclination is to slow down, play it safe and buy ourselves time. But often we just fall further behind. Being overly cautious makes you freeze, much like a deer in headlights. The Bible says that God "gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless" (Isaiah 40:29) So trust Him and move forward, instead of giving in to the impulse to just do nothing.
#3 Approach the future with confidence: Recent events have us all on edge, but as a child of God you can say "I can lie down and sleep soundly because you, Lord, will keep me safe (Psalms 4:8) The truth is, you can't build a decent argument for living in fear; so trust God, adjust to reality, and live each day to the fullest!
Alright folks! That's it for now...I pray this has helped someone...
Remember I'm always here if you need me.
Pray for me, I need to be feeling much better within the next week. God Bless!
Love me some you!

Daily Devotion for 5/17/11 Growing Stronger Through Change Part III
Good Morning Folks...I've been out sick the last few days so I haven't been on my game. But I'm almost at 100% Pray for me! I'd like to continue with the series of Growing stronger through Change. Here we go!
Today's Topic: Growing Stronger Through Change Part III
Scripture Text: Psalms 31:7
"I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love"
There's an old Chinese Proverb that says: "A diamond cannot be polished without friction, and a person can't be perfected without trials." We all want to live stress free without having to work at it, but it can't be done. So:
#1 Take time each day to pray and read God's Word; it'll transform your outlook
#2 If you still look like your old passport photo, take a vacation, you need one!
#3 What goes up must come down, so cut back on caffeine and sugar!
#4 Eat right-a balanced diet isn't having a cookie in each hand! [Guess I need to get rid of those cookies my roommate just baked lol]
#5 Exercise three to five times a week for thirty minutes; it's natures magic bullet for stress
#6 Develop better time management habits: "use it or lose it"
#7 make room in your life for fun and relaxation
#8 Get eight hours of sleep when possible
#9 Maintain your sense of humor: "A cheerful disposition is good for your health; gloom and doom leave you bone-tired" (Proverbs 17:22)
#10 Start counting your blessings. The Psalmists said, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits (Psalms 103.2)
#11 When you talk to yourself, say the right things. YOUR words affect you more than others
#12 Simplify your life by eliminating clutter. If you haven't used it for two years, you probably don't need it.
#13 Develop a sense of purpose by seeking God and setting personal goals
#14 Forgive; grudges are too heavy to carry: "If you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive [you] (Matthew 6:15)
We have a lot to do right. So let's get it done :)
Peace and Love Fam!

Daily Devotion for 5/12/11 Growing Stronger Through Change Part II
Good Morning Folks, and the lesson continues :) Here's Part II from yesterday's devotion
Today's Topic: Growing Stronger Through Change Part II
Scripture Text: Philippians 4:11
"I have learned...to be content"
We have all learned that you can not escape change nor the stress associated with it. So here are some steps we can use to help handle it:
1. Choose your battles wisely: Take a look at these questions: Do you instinctively give in to fear and oppose change, even when it might benefit you? Do you keep throwing yourself across the tracks, hoping to stop the freight train of reality? Do you think that no issue is too small to be ignored? Waging war on too many fronts always results in fatigue and defeat, so choose battles big enough to matter.
2. Try to become more adaptable: What's your most common response to change? Do you drag your feet? Do you have a "have to" attitude? Do you only do what's necessary? Once you stop caring, life loses its sparkle, and ironically, you become overwhelmed with even more stress. So learn to become more resilient. It's a process that takes time. Whatever state you are in, be content.
3. Welcome new experiences: If you're moving forward in life your surroundings will be constantly changing. If you don't see any changes, that means you're going in circles. Continuing to cling to today's comfort is only done at tomorrow's expense. Take the bull by the horns! Plunge in and rely on God's grace to help carry you.
4. Learn to live with uncertainty: Always struggling to "stabilize" in a constantly changing world is like trying to push water uphill-as soon as you get tired and stop, it runs back down over. Learn to live with loose ends; "wing it" a little more, instead of struggling to make sure that life always happens on your terms.
These are some wonderful tips to think about. I hope this lesson is helping someone that is struggling through change.
Well fam, I'm always here if you need me! Love me some you!
Peace and Blessings

Daily Devotion for 5/11/11 Growing Stronger Through Change
Good Morning Folks...It's been a rough start but I'm pressing my way through....I need this Devotion. I pray this helps someone else today as well
Today's Topic: Growing Stronger Through Change
Scripture Text: James 1:3
"Under pressure...your faith...shows"
The one thing that we all can count on in life-is change. No matter how hard we try to avoid it and run from it has an attitude of "Ready or Not here I come". In order to grow stronger through change we must:
1. Give up: Don't be an escape artist, or try to avoid the stress that accompanies change. There is no escape; change is inevitable. Stop regarding it as an enemy and make it your friend. Only when you decide to ride the horse in the direction its going, will you get to where you need to be.
2. Wise Up: Our fight to flight instincts often kick in when change suddenly hits us and we aren't able to handle it. But there's a solution. By entrusting our lives fully into God's care and asking for His wisdom, "he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into...change" (Romans 2:4) God loves the way we are, but He loves us too much to leave us that way.
3. Toughen Up: Somebody quipped "If it wasn't for stress, I'd have no energy at all" Are you making it harder on yourself than it needs to be? Are you speaking faith or fear? Are you trusting God or are you ready to give up without even trying? If you're struggling to make sense of your current situation, read these words: "Under [the pressure of change], your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed" (James 1:3-4)
When we resist change, we create a tug-of-war scenario between us and change. Resistance to change just creates stress, ulcers, and sleeplessness. So here are some of the attitudes we need to adjust:
1. Thinking like a victim: Stop expecting everyone else to rescue you, feel sorry for you, or reduce your stress levels. Take the wheel! Get control of your own life! The situation is not hopeless and you are not helpless. Remember "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phillipians 3:14)
2. Deciding not to change: Invest your efforts into changing what you can, like your attitude and your approach. It's a lot easier embrace new habits then it is to hold on to old ones.
3. Playing the new game by the old rules: When a car that's stuck in second gear keeps trying to do 100 mph, guess what happens-meltdown! If you don't want to burn out, learn to change gears. When your life's seasons, assignments or relationships change, begin to adjust. Learn to play the new rules, otherwise you'll keep losing.
4. Trying to control the uncontrollable: When the music changes, its time to learn some new dance steps, otherwise you'll finish up sitting on the sidelines. You may not like the changes, but you can learn to flow with them. "We are perplexed...but we don't give up and quit...We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going." (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)
I know the journey is difficult but keep pushing, and keep trusting. God said he'd never leave you nor forsake you. He'll never put more on you then you can bear. He's with you through it all!!
Be blessed fam! Hope this encourages someone in their 'Gethsemane' season to keep pressing their way.
Peace and Blessings Fam

Daily Devotion for 5/10/11 Tear down those walls
Good Morning Family!!! Just want to hop right in to this one...
Today's Topic: Tear down those walls
Scripture Text: Jeremiah 30:17
"I will heal your wounds."
Have you built a wall around yourself, saying, "No one can hurt me if I don't let anyone get close to me?" It won't work. The wall you've built to keep others out has you locked in. The Lord wants to be your protector, but He cannot, if you are busy trying to protect yourself. God didn't promise that you would never get hurt, but He promised to heal you if you come to Him rather than trying to take care of everything yourself. If you've built walls around yourself out of fear, then you must tear them down through faith. Go to Jesus with each old wound and receive His healing. When someone hurts you, don't let it fester, take it to the Lord in prayer and be willing to handle it His way instead of your own. Read what God told His people, and receive it as a promise to you: "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal your wounds, says the Lord, because they have called you an outcast, saying, This is (fill in your name), whom no one seeks after and for whom no one cares." You won't merely survive this hurt, you'll grow stronger through it and be able to minister to others. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God" (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) So, tear down those walls!
Be Free on today family! Don't let the hurt of this world keep you from anything. Let God comfort you.during your time of need.
I love you Family and I'm here if you need me.
Peace and Blessings

Daily Devotion for 5/9/11 Standing on His Promise
Good Morning Fam! I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend and got to spend some time with their mothers for Mother's Day. Let's get the week started off right!
Today's Topic: Standing On His Promise
Scripture Text: Hebrews 11:6
"He who comes to God must believe that...He is a rewarder"
Little Christopher Pylant's parents refused to believe that there was no hope for their son, who'd been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. After studying the x-rays, neurosurgeon Ben Carson told them, "There's no way I can encourage you." "The experts told us that in Georgia." she replied "But God led us to Baltimore and said there's a doctor here who can help him. We believe you're that Doctor." Carson replied, "I'll do my best," praying for a miracle. When he operated, Christopher's brain stem looked like it had been consumed by cancer, and without that there's no real life. In the waiting room he told the Pylant's, "I'm sorry I couldn't help your son. We've all prayed but sometimes God works in ways we don't understand." They never wavered, saying, "God's going to heal our son. We're standing on His promise." Carson admired their faith, but the evidence was irrefutable. For three days little Christoher was comatose, but his eyes were focusing and his physical movements improved. Following another scan Carson re-operated, and after removing the cancerous mass in layers and cleaning out the crevices, there it was-a healthy brain stem, distorted, but intact! Taking their son home a month later, his parents and the doctor thanked God together for a miracle. "He who comes to God must believe that...He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." The neurosurgeon said, "As they walked out of the hospital that day...ghttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.giflory shone on their faces, and I heard my mother telling me again, "If you ask God for something believing He'll do it...He'll do it"
Amen?

Daily Devotion for 5/6/11 Do what you're called to do!
Hey Fam! Happy Friday...I'm excited for today's Devotion.
Today's Topic: Do what you're called to do!
Scripture Text: John 3:27
"A man must be content to receive the gift...given him from heaven"
We love to quote the promise: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phillipians 4:13) But that promise does NOT mean that you can do ANYthing that you want to do, or whatever someone else is already doing. No, Paul is saying you do anything God calls you to do. For each assignment or task that he delegates you with, he also offers his assistance to help you get through. This verse is actually used to set and stay within the boundaries of what God's called you to do. Don't try and undertake things that are not a part of His will for you. That right there is wisdom. God wants you looking to Him for answers, not others. Now that doesn't mean that you can't learn from others, it just means the plan that will lead you to success must come from God.
What is God's will for your life? Find it, do it, otherwise you'll put yourself through unnecessary hellish situations. You'll find yourself frustrated, confused, competing, and comparing yourself with others. "A man must be content to receive the gift...given him from heaven" If you read the previous verses you'll discover that some of John's disciples were getting upset because Jesus was baptizing too, and the crowds were leaving John and flocking to Him. However, because John was secure in his God-given identity and calling, he didn't become fearful or jealous. He displayed a different attitude-one we should all take to the heart. He said "I can only do what I have been divinely authorized and empowered to do...I must be content with that gift and calling"
So just in case you didn't know, the same goes for you, and me! :)
Be Blessed Family!
Have a wonderful weekend. I'll be on travel with the fam this weekend so say a little prayer for me :)
Love y'all

Daily Devotion for 5/5/11 Pray for God's Favour
Good Morning Everyone!! Happy Thursday :)
Today's Topic: Pray for God's Favor
Scripture Text: Exodus 3:21
"I will give [you] favour"
God told Israel, "I will give favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and...when ye go, ye shall not go empty." God promised His people two things before they left Egypt: favor with their enemies, and great provision. And when he brought them out, they had both. There's a lesson here. Your trouble is only a classroom-a controlled environment for God to work on your behalf. [So good to know] Look at what He used to free His people from slavery and turn their situation around-flies, hailstones and frogs. Go figure! the things that destroyed their enemies were the very things God used to deliver them. There's nothing God can't do.
He can be your doctor/healer--Jehovah Raphah, your counselor, y our broker, your lawyer. Everything that you need, God can be that and more. There's no limit to the power of God. Notice, the frogs that invaded the homes of the Egyptians couldn't cross the property line of God's people. That's because the favor of God will protect you!!! How many times have you been in a situation, things came right up to you, but never touched you. "The hand of God was on us, and he protected us from enemies" (Ezra 8:31) Why did the same Pharoah who repeatedly said no to Moses, suddenly say yes? Timing! When the time is right God will move on your behalf. So start praying for favor: Favor in unexpected places, favor that moves mountains, favor that opens doors, favor that gives you access to things you otherwise wouldn't have. If you can't cope with the future, check with the past.
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life" (Psalms 23:6)
Let God work on your behalf. His favor and mercy is guaranteed to follow you. God can and will be everything you need if you just trust him and allow him to work! Get out of the way! When God needs us to work, he'll let us know. We know faith without works is dead, but sometimes we get in our own way. So step back, and let God take control.

Daily Devotion for 5/4/11 Timely Words
Good Morning Folks! What a rainy Wednesday it is...But after every shower there's a rainbow and new things grow...so thank you God for the rain...Here's today's devotion
Today's Topic: Timely Words
Scripture Text: Psalms 139-:13-18
The psalmist wrote, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
OLD-FASHIONED New Englanders don't say much, and my grandfather was no different. The deep lines on his face and hands told of his many years of service in the navy and the local fire department. Somewhere along this difficult journey, my grandfather developed mastery of the timely word. My brother and I knew the signs -- when we saw his twinkling glance and the thin curve of his smile, we would wait in suspense for his perfect joke that would send us roaring.
As Gramp's health began to fail last year, he turned that careful expressiveness to the messages of love he wanted to leave. My mother weeps openly when she recounts how this former seaman gazed at her with eyes as deep as the oceans he once sailed and said to her, "I love my pretty girl. That's my pretty girl." At the end of a life full of timely words, his last was to let his child know how special she was to him.
In the Bible, we can read that the psalmist understood that God sees each of us the same way Gramp saw his daughter, as a beloved child. Each of us is "fearfully and wonderfully made," the pinnacle of God's creation. I will take comfort in the assurance of our Creator's skillful work until the day I hear God say, "I love my handsome boy. That's my handsome boy."
Derik Timmerman (North Carolina, USA)
Prayer
Loving God, thank you for making us part of your creation. Help us to see others and ourselves as you do. Amen.
Thought for the Day
God looks at each of us through eyes filled with love.

Daily Devotion for 5/3/11 A prayer for understanding
Good Morning/Afternoon Folks,
I was attending a funeral on yesterday so I was unable to send out the devotion. On today I want to send out a prayer to those who are struggling with a situation that they are unsure of how to handle. A prayer to help with a situation that human wisdom can't help or explain. Say this prayer on today [Compliments of Daily Devotion of Cornerstone Christian Center Church]:
"Lord, Your Word says that You are 'the only wise God' and Iam desperately in need of You at this time. I'm in a situation human wisdom can't explain and human ability can't fix. There's only one way out-that's You! Send the spirit of wisdom and show me which way to go. Send the spirit of revelation to help me understand what I can't figure out, for nobody but You can get me through this. Help me to faithfully obey all You show me to do, and to remember that sometimes the wisdom of this world is foolishness to You. Help me to know the difference between human advice and godly advice, and to choose Your way. I submit this situation to You and commit myself to following you, knowing You've promised to direct my steps. Help me to walk this road with confidence in You; with the courage that comes from knowing that I am Yours. Help me to cling to my convictions, yet still love those who misunderstand me. Keep me far from anger and close to Your heart. And though it's an uphill climb, take my hand, light my way and help me to walk on, for in the end I know that all things will work together for my good and Your glory: in Christ's name. Amen"
My prayer for you today is that the prayer above will help you with your situation. May God's love, peace, and joy, be in and around you. God Bless
